18 June, 2pm – St Dubricius Church Fete, Rectory Garden TA24 8QL.  Stalls and refreshments.  Everyone welcome.
24 June 7-9pm – Cross Country for Cancer talk by Roger and Marion Brown at Top Ship.  They will have walked 346 miles from Boston in Lincolnshire to Barnstaple to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.  Donations very welcome.
25-26 June 2-4pm – Porlock Open Gardens weekend.  A wide variety of gardens – large, small, wild and tamed – most not normally open to the public!  Refreshments, plant sales, raffle and other attractions in aid of RNLI.  No dogs please.  Tickets £6 from Porlock Visitor Centre, 01643 863150

Porlock TIC summer opening hours now commenced: 10.00-12.30 and 2.00-5.00 Mondays to Fridays and 10.00-5.00 on Saturdays.  This includes Bank Holidays.
Photograph Competition – The Changing Moods of Porlock Marsh.
Porlock Marsh Vision Group is launching a photographic competition.  Clare Reid, Project Manager said: “ We are looking for photos that capture the spirit of Porlock Marsh in all its different moods and weathers, its dynamic, changing landscape, and how people enjoy the Marsh.  There are some great prizes to be won.  We are also interested in historic photos showing how it’s changed over time, particularly how it has changed in the last 20 years since the breach.  We’ll be organising an exhibition of the best photographs at the end of the competition, and it would be great to also have some older pictures.”  The competition runs until 30 Sept 2016.  To submit and for terms and condition go to www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk/porlockmarsh.

19 June: The West Somerset Railway Classic Car Run from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead passes along Watchet Esplanade from around 11.30am. A wonderful selection of classics from the 1930’s to the 1980’s will take a 35-mile trip around the high-ways and by-ways of West Somerset.
23 June – 17 July. The Tempest: exhibition and publication. Contemporary artists’ interpretations of one of Shakespeare’s greatest works.
25 June ‘Sunshine and Shakespeare’ community event, 2 – 5.
